The Quik Beats are a five-piece Mod and Soul band who deliver an upbeat ‘tribute’ to iconic ’60s music. The band draws its repertoire from the material made famous by mid-sixties “British Invasion” bands, American soul artists of the era and home-grown Northern Soul acts. Majoring on high quality vocals and virtuoso musicianship their show has become a firm favourite with established venues across the Midlands.
The Quik Beats’ goal is authenticity, right from the choice of their instruments through to their stage presentation, and this eye for detail along with the band’s professional outlook is reflected in the high quality of their performances. At a Quik Beats gig you can expect to hear an eclectic mix of iconic guitar tracks from artists like The Kinks and The Who, Hammond driven classics from The Spencer Davis Group and Booker T and The MGs, rare soul from Nolan Porter, Rufus Thomas, The Show Stoppers and Julian Covey and a wide range of danceable tracks that’ll get your party started and remind your audience why they’ve always loved the music of the 1960s.
Whilst “mod” may be a shorthand description for The Quik Beats, in reality the band deliver a product with a far wider and more general appeal. Based centrally the band are available for engagements across the UK and can provide a full package including PA and lighting for the majority of venues.
Upon booking The Quik Beats it was great to see a band deliver that fantastic 60s Hammond sound so authentically. With an obvious eye for image and detail as well as excellent musicianship, the band convincingly trade off both classic 60s hits & those often forgotten gems of the era. Acts that have a professional and entertaining approach while giving our audience something a little different is something The Jam House always endeavours to provide for its patrons and The Quik Beats are no exception. We look forward to their return this September.

In the ten years that The Artrix has been open, the venue has worked with The Quik Beats on several very successful projects, most recently earlier this year when we booked the band for a reprise of their innovative concept ‘Quadrophenia Night’.
The band has always been professional to work with not only delivering polished performances but also developing new event formats and promoting gigs.
